1. Tempurpedic mattress
前陣子因為我和Ｅ兩人很懶，一直沒有把master bedroom的雜物給清出來，所以有好長的一段日子兩人都是在自家的客房過夜的。根據Ｅ不客觀的說法(只有他一人之詞當然不客觀啦！XD)在客房睡覺的時候我打呼打得很大聲。
Ｅ：”Sweetheart妳以前沒有打呼這麼大聲啊”
Na：”…….”
E：”我已經把妳翻來覆去捏鼻子拍臉頰墊高頭一整晚了，妳打呼都沒有停過”
E：”I think this is a lose-lose situation for me”（我覺得我是最大的輸家）
Na：”why?”
E：”I lose when you don’t sleep next to me but I also lose when you sleep next to me”
（妳不在我身旁睡覺我輸(因為寂寞)妳在我身旁睡覺我也輸(因為太吵)）
Na：”……….”
就在我們兩人已經為了這事鬧到精疲力竭快要去婚姻(或是sleep) therapy的時候，master bedroom終於整理好了。兩個人對於終於回到自己的床上睡覺這件事情都感到既期待又怕被傷害。
Na：”我今晚是不是去沙發睡好了？”
E: “Don’t even think about it!” (想都別想！）
就這樣過了一個晚上…..。
E: “妳昨晚沒有打呼耶”
Na：(懷疑貌) “真的嗎？”
E: “真的！整個晚上連針掉下的聲音都沒有！”
Na：”Ok?” (什麼都是你在說，反正我聽不到～）
E: （想了想）”這一定是床墊的關係！”
Na：”這跟床墊有什麼關係？”
Ｅ：”這跟床墊當然有關係啦！這可是Tempurpedic的床墊，是foam~~的，又可以這樣又可以那樣～，客房的床墊是普通的傳統Matress所以沒辦法給妳的身體太多的support…..”(以下一百字省略）
Na：”Ok?” (還是沒興趣）
Ｅ：”妳應該高興我在剛認識妳的時候買了這個床墊“
Na：”why?”
Ｅ：”以妳的個性，我跟妳在一起之後妳是絕~對不會讓我花這麼多錢買個床墊的” (Na：廢話～一張要4-7k的床墊，正常人都不會買的好嗎？)
Ｅ：”but if we don’t have this mattress, I might have problem marrying you”
(但如果不是因為這個床墊，我可能不會娶妳）
Na: “……..” （所以說我的美好婚姻架構在一張床墊上面？？？？？？？？？)
又過了幾天～
Na: “所以你現在高興了？睡這個床我不打呼了？”
Ｅ：”是啊妳一點都不打呼了我是很高興沒錯….”
Ｅ：”….不過我在想一件事”
Na: “what?” （不祥的預感）
Ｅ：”我覺得妳可以瘦個幾磅。””妳知道，我覺得妳會打呼是因為妳鼻子太小無法支撐妳身體（的重量)“
Ｅ：”不過妳知道無論怎樣我都很愛妳的～啾”
Na: “…………………..” (顯示中槍無法回答)
2. 扭曲的價值觀
禮拜六的下午，Ｅ跟我兩人跑去逛街買了一堆衣服。逛完衣服店後，很自然的就走到家用品的地方繼續花錢。
Na：（拿起一個European Square pillow）”我們新的床套還差一個裝飾的方形枕頭”
Ｅ：”是啊，應該就是這個大小的枕頭沒錯”
Na：”那就買這個吧” (示意要拿去結帳）
Ｅ：”等一等，讓我看看這多少錢再說”
Ｅ：”妳看看這個標價，這個枕頭就要50元耶”
Na：”So?”
Ｅ：(義正嚴辭）”妳知道一個枕頭50元有多貴嗎？？上次我在Macy’s買同樣大小的枕頭一個才$25！
Na：(有點嚇到) “不過是25塊，你哪有時間再跑去Macy’s?”
Ｅ：”妳怎麼一點financial sense都沒有這枕頭是裝飾用的妳又不睡在上面買那麼好的做什麼？”(戳) “虧妳還是個CPA” (再戳) “妳知道25塊是50塊的50% off 嗎?”
Na：”Okok whatever you say” (我只是不想浪費時間跑另外一家店，25塊買到我的方便我覺得超～划算的啊）
所以兩人兩手空空的離開了家用品店。在回去的路上～
Na：”你知道剛剛我們買衣服花了多少錢嗎？”
Ｅ：”知道啊。我們剛花了快X千塊買衣服”
Na：”你不覺得你捨得花X千塊買衣服卻捨不得花25塊給自己買一點方便很可笑嗎？你不覺得花二十五塊省下我們跑到另外一家店的時間很值得嗎？”
Ｅ：”對耶” (恍然大悟貌) “妳不說我都沒有注意到耶！！”
Na：”………….” （翻白眼）(你是小白嗎？？）
Actually, I have to second E's opinion on mattress 😛 NO, it's TOTALLY not crazy to buy an expensive mattress!! 😛 I didn't get a tempurpedic, but I had chronic backpain for several years (even though the mattress we had at the time is supposed to be good…) so anyway, we finally switched mattress (it's not as $$ as tempurpedic, but it was also a steep amount for mattress) and it's like going from hell to heaven 😛 mattress is totally worth the money!
p.s. and I do know a few friends who spent the big bucks on tempurpedic and said they love it! makes me want to get one, lol

Recently found your blog. Love it!
Gotta agree with E on investing in a good mattress, but also agree with you on trading $25 for saving the hassle of going to another store for a pillow.
We got an authentic Tempurpedic on eBay, saved 25% off retail, plus 10% sales tax, turned out to be a better deal than buying it through a physician friend (doctors get some discount from the manufacturer). The only catch is no return or warranty.
The mattress was great, I love it and my back pain stopped. Hubby hates it and started having back pain. We may buy a SleepNumber for hubby and have 2 Cal-Kings side by side in 1 room :/

Hi Cat – glad you like Tempurpedic ( I love mine too!) but too bad that your husband's back doesn't like it…maybe you can move it to the guest bedroom if you have one and try the SleepNumber?
