I am in complete shock that Colton was voted off American Idol tonight.
He is definitely one of my favorites on the show.
He has a nice look, a beautiful voice, a really delicate approach to music,
but what makes it truly special…is the vulnerability that just comes out of his voice.
He is a true artist and a whole package as a singer.
I can’t believe he is simply voted off because of just one not so great performance.
And what I can’t believe more is his choice of his last song tonight, “Everything” by Lifehouse.
It’s an interesting choice to pick a gospel song as his last performance on the stage. The choice definitely came from the bottom of his heart.
And I was really, really touched.
(I can’t find the final performance online so I found the one he performed on Top 9)
It’s not a goodbye, because I know we will see him again. And he will go very far.
With his voice and his talent, he will go very far.
See you Colton. We will see you again very soon.
And speak to me.
I want to feel you,
I need to hear you.
You are the light,
That’s leading me,
To the place,
Where I find peace again.
You are the strength,
That keeps me walking.
You are the hope,
That keeps me trusting.
You are the light,
To my soul.
You are my purpose,
You’re everything.
How can I stand here with you,
And not be moved by you?
Would you tell me,
How could it be,
Any better than this?
You calm the storms,
And you give me rest.
You hold me in your hands,
You won’t let me fall.
You steal my heart,
And you take my breath away.
Would you take me in,
Take me deeper now.
And how can I stand here with you,
And not be moved by you?
Would you tell me,
How could it be,
Any better than this?
And how can I stand here with you,
And not be moved by you?
Would you tell me,
How could it be,
Any better than this?
Cause you’re all I want,
You’re all I need,
You’re everything, everything.
You’re all I want,
You’re all I need,
You’re everything, everything.
You’re everything
God is everything.
